Clear & Current ("the app") is a personal productivity tool for running a weekly review of your systems, projects, and obligations. The tool is intended to encourage busy professionals to adopt a weekly review habit, regardless of whether they practice the GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology or another productivity system. Neither this app nor its methodology is the official product of David Allen Company nor its affiliates. This policy explains what information the app collects, why it collects it, and the choices you have. It is published by JPL Advisory LLC ("we", "us").
You can use every core feature of the app — the guided weekly checklist, the Quick Tally, and your history — without ever creating an account. In that mode, your data is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us.
Creating an account is optional, and only needed if you want your review history backed up and synced across your own devices, or want AI-generated insights. If you create an account, we collect:
If you use the Insights feature, a summary of your review activity — completion counts and Quick Tally counts — is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a short written summary, which is then stored in our database tied to your account. This only happens if you're signed in and you or a scheduled process trigger the feature; it never happens for an account that hasn't opted into cloud sync.
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. We don't run third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't use your data for tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
Solely to operate the features described above: syncing your review data across your devices, sending your weekly reminder, and generating AI insights. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers to operate the app, each of which processes data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

Your synced review data is kept for as long as your account exists. AI-generated insights are kept for a limited time and then deleted automatically: weekly and monthly insight summaries are deleted after 2 months, and on-demand "Instant" insights after 10 days. You can also:
Data in transit between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Our database uses row-level security so that your data is only ever readable by your own account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.
The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years old. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
